By using Ceru ("the app"), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Ceru is a mobile application that helps groups of people track shared expenses, calculate balances, and settle debts. The app provides tools including manual expense entry, voice input, receipt scanning, and data export.
You must create an account to use Ceru. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may sign in using email/password, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In.
You agree to use Ceru only for its intended purpose of expense tracking and splitting. You may not:
The free tier includes 5 voice inputs and 3 receipt scans per calendar month, resetting on the first day of each month. Everything else — groups, expenses, settlements, budgets and export — is available on the free tier. A subscription removes the voice and scan limits.
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the app. Pricing, renewal, refunds and cancellation are handled by that store under its own terms; we never receive your payment details. Cancel from your account settings in the App Store or Google Play.
Voice input and receipt scanning send your recording, the resulting text, the names of the group's members, or your receipt photo to third-party AI providers outside our systems. The app asks for your permission before this happens for the first time, and you can withdraw it at any time in Profile; the rest of the app keeps working without it. What is sent, and to whom, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
These features produce estimates. Always check the amounts an AI feature suggests before saving or paying.
You retain ownership of the data you create in the app (expense descriptions, group names, etc.). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely for providing the service.
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your data.
Ceru is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. Balance calculations are provided as a convenience — users are responsible for verifying amounts before making real payments.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to financial disputes between group members.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. Your account, profile, photos, receipt images, comments and activity entries are permanently removed, and the deletion cannot be undone.
Expenses and settlements in your groups are kept and attributed to an anonymous "Deleted user" placeholder, because they record money owed between people and removing them would change what the remaining members owe each other. The placeholder holds no name, email or photo. See the account deletion page for the full detail.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
